I am able to offer a cable for the Alinco with Aux cables already wired to take advantage of the extra auxiliary ports on the IRLP
board. One of the possible applications is to control a fan (see below) so node radios run cool. The cables are carefully built with quality materials including high flexibility cable
For those of you who want more from your IRLP board you will find on this cable, an extra cable with four wires
clearly labeled to be used for Aux 1, 2, 3 and Gnd. Currently, Im using the AUX3 wire to drive a transistor.
This transistor switches a relay connected to a cooling fan on a Alinco Radio. The following simple schematic is the
one used to control the fan using the cable. A custom_on and custom_off scripts are modified to
turn on/off the fan when a connection is activated or de-activated. The following are custom_on/off sample scripts. Applications
for these wires are endless.
The wiring is as
follows:
NOTE: The wiring
for the Version 3.0 and later IRLP boards
is different from Version 1 and Version 2.0
<> Pin 3 – AUX1 Output >
This pin should
be connected to any AUX source. This lead is active LOW only (goes to
ground
for AUX1 to activate).
<> Pin 4 – AUX2 Output >
This pin should
be connected to any AUX source. This lead is active LOW only (goes to
ground
for AUX2 to activate).
<> Pin 5 – AUX3 Output>
This pin should
be connected to any AUX source. This lead is active LOW only (goes to
ground
for AUX3 to activate).
The length of the cable is 42 inches long. All cables are fully tested before shipment.
